Pricing questions, answered
How much does Capable cost?+
Startup is $1,200 a year or $120 a month. Growth is $3,500 a year or $350 a month. Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. 14 days free with no card. Import and build your cap table, add your board and invite your team and stakeholders. Every feature is on during the trial, including exports, e-signature, board consents, the Claude and ChatGPT connector and the API. If the trial ends without a plan, Capable pauses (stakeholder portals included) until one is chosen, and everything you set up is kept for 30 days, then deleted.
What happens if I cancel?+
You keep full access until the end of the period you paid for. After that the cap table becomes read-only. Exports and stakeholder portals always stay open, so you and your team never lose access to your data.
Why is annual billing cheaper?+
Annual billing costs ten months of the monthly price, so you get two months free. Annual is the default; monthly is available on both plans.
Do you limit stakeholders?+
No. Startup and Growth both include unlimited stakeholders and admins, so the price does not change as you hire or raise.
What does 'price held' mean?+
The price you subscribe at does not increase for as long as your company stays subscribed, however many people you hire.
Is billing per company?+
Yes. Each company has its own subscription. If you run several companies, each one is billed separately.
What does Growth add?+
Native e-signature, board and stockholder consents drafted and sent in Capable, Form 3921, Rule 701 and 83(b) tracking, exercise requests with payment, custom reports, and HRIS sync.
Does the price include a 409A valuation?+
No. Capable records any 409A from any independent appraiser, tracks its expiry, and uses it to price grants. You can also order one inside Capable for $1,499, delivered in 10 business days, paid upfront.
How do I pay for services like a 409A or round modeling?+
In the app. Each service has a fixed price you see before ordering, you pay by card or US bank account in Stripe Checkout, and the team starts once the payment clears. Every payment has an invoice, and cancelling before work starts refunds you in full.
Do I need to talk to sales?+
No. Sign up and subscribe from Billing inside the app with a card or bank account. Upgrading, switching to monthly or annual, invoices and cancelling are all self-serve too.
Is importing an existing cap table free?+
Yes. Self-serve import is free, and we migrate you for free within 24 hours if you send us your exports.
